O’LYN Contractors is as serious about protecting the environment as it is about roofing. That is why it is so important for us to take a comprehensive approach to being green.
With no commercial recycling available at our offices, our employees take it upon themselves to gather recyclables and bring them home in order to make sure they do get recycled. We even bring home coffee grinds and food scraps for compost.
Our asphalt shingle recycling initiative in partnership with Owens Corning and Heritage Environmental Services is yet another effort we have undertaken. Currently the US roofing industry intentionally buries the equivalent of two and a half Gulf Oil Spills worth of oil in the form of recyclable asphalt shingles. That’s ten million barrels! At O’LYN Roofing, we work towards making certain that every asphalt shingle we take off your roof goes back into our roads, reducing landfills AND our dependence on foreign oil.
