Jamaica Plain, MA Full Roof Replacement
1. The Challenge
Homeowner, Vicky Georgenes was looking for a company that had all the answers for all her roofing, ventilation, gutters, insulation and fascia/soffit replacement. The house was built in the 1960’s and was looking at a roof that was about 20 years old. Condition of roof was poor and currently had not had any ventilation to help support a healthy roofing system. This caused rot in the fascia and soffit areas as well as shingles cracking and falling off. The rotted fascia had also caused the gutters to pull away from roof causing various leaks externally. Heating home in the winter and cooling the home in the summer had also become challenges. Homeowner also had concerns with existing damage that mold and /or mildew was present in the attic.

2. The Solution
A full roof replacement was suggested and discussed in 2 separate meetings with homeowner. We introduced composite soffits and fascia as well as continuous soffit venting throughout eaves of house. We also installed a power fan to maximize air flow since we were dealing with a hip roof and need to meet Mass Code for NFA (Net Free Air). 5” Gutter system was reintroduced and tied into drain system that was currently present. The final touch was to have cellulose insulation blown in to help heat from escaping the ceiling areas.
3. The Conclusion
After a full week of work on site all facets had been completed. A walk thru with Diagnostic Specialist, Jason Arruda was completed and all questions were answered. Homeowner is looking forward to her new efficient roofing system for years to come.
