John has been a carpenter since 1976, framing roofs, installing siding, and doing finish and trim work, and running his own business doing it for 26 years.
He has been with O’LYN since 2011 and specializes in wood work involved in roof projects along with general roof repair. This includes things such as Victorian gingerbread details, wood gutters, as well as composite (Azek) wood replacement. He particularly enjoys the challenges that each different job presents.
When he’s not working, John enjoys camping and skiing with family and friends most of all.

Great Job by John Olen and his crew. They did a phenomenal job that was on time and very
professional. They installed 2 high quality skylights with perfection and the new roof came out great as
well. John Olen came back and did some finishing touches on the wood work inside the house and
his work was great.

The team, headed by John, and beginning with Jim (the salesman?)was efficient, respectful and
helpful. Jim helped me secure a 0 percent loan.The work crew did an excellent job cleaning up.
Weeks after the roof was completed I’ve yet to find one nail. I originally told O’Lyn I wanted the roof
replaced in November. However, in September I found a leak in one of my bedrooms. They
responded in three days to begin the job! All in all, very professional, consumer friendly. I highly
recommend them

Had a great experience from the sales team Joe Law who explained thoroughly the price and different
payment plans and using his computer how everything is precisely measured.John Olen the field
supervisor was great too. His team did a superb removing and installing roof shingles and gutters.
They even used a magnetic roller to pick up all the loose roofing nails which made my dog very
happy. Definitely a 5 star company at an affordable price.

“Best roofer experience I have ever had. O’Lyn replaced my 20 year old roof and replaced roof vents with a ridge vent. The crew showed up on schedule, did a very clean and speedy job (finished same day!), took care to protect our house and adjacent houses, and did an excellent job cleaning up afterwards. The project lead returned the next day to double-check that everything had been done correctly and had been cleaned up properly. Very good communication with the company and the on-site team.

When I contacted them, they responded promptly to schedule a meeting with me, through which I was well educated about roof replacement process and roof materials. They did not give me pressure at the end of the meeting so that I could compare their service with other potential service providers. Within a week after I signed the contract with them, they contacted me to schedule roof replacement. During roof replacement, a manager, who is a kind gentlemen, was on-site to answer my questions and supervised the process. The workers are experienced and worked hard. When I went out home, they gave me kind smiles. They put curtains to protect my home when they replaced my house’s old roof. As promised, the roof replacement was done within one day. After finishing the work, they cleaned the surrounding of my house to make sure no nails were left. “O’LYN just finished a job on my 123 year old house. They had to reshingle a portion of the roof on my house and put a new roof on my barn where the roof was probably close to 50 years old. They also installed some gutters.
John the main supervisor and crew manager Marco did an excellent job. John was very responsive to all of my concerns and questions. My job turned out to be a lot bigger and more involved than imagined and they handled the changes seamlessly. They were on time, put everything back like outdoor furniture and ring solar cameras and cleaned up debris and placed protective coverings where needed.”
