6th Annual Tom Olen Memorial Golf Tournament
O’LYN Roofing will be hosting the 6th Annual Tom Olen Memorial Golf Outing on June 14, 2018 at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton. The annual tournament is held in honor of long-time employee and resident of the Neponset Valley community, Tom Olen, who passed away from cancer in 2010. All of the proceeds from the golf tournament are used to support cancer research organizations, financially assist families struggling with cancer, and persons in need of organ transplants.
Last year, 70 golfers and 96 dinner attendees attended the event, helping raise over $10,000 in funds that will go directly to beneficiaries of the Tom Olen Memorial Fund.
Previous recipients of support from the Tom Olen Memorial Fund include the Paint Her Pink Foundation, Promise For Purple, We Love Jesse, the Make-A-Wish/Long Beach Polar Bears, the Furbush Children’s Fund, and Colton’s Crusade. We have also provided direct support to individuals and families struggling to finance the secondary costs associated with their fight against cancer, such as travel and accommodation for treatment, child educational and enrichment activities, and general overhead and sustenance expenses. Additionally, we award an annual $5,000 scholarship to an entering college undergraduate affected by cancer.
Each year our golf tournament attracts hundreds of attendees and sponsors. With generous contributions from local businesses who provided us with exciting raffle items, we have raised tens of thousands of dollars and made direct impacts on the lives of families in our community. Some of the most successful donations we received in the past have included gift cards and activity packages that provide recipients the opportunity to get out, explore, and experience what local businesses in our area have to offer. We are asking for the continued generosity of the local business community to help ensure the success of the event.
In anticipation of a banner year with record attendance, we are reaching out to you for any raffle items you might consider donating. To express our appreciation of your generosity, we will list your business’s name on all relevant event day signage and in our event program. We also invite you, and your colleagues to consider joining in our event!
Thank you for your consideration and we hope to hear from you soon!

About the Tom Olen Memorial Fund
The Tom Olen Memorial Fund exists to support organizations and individuals that work towards fighting cancer and assisting organ transplants. We strive to make a personal connection with cancer patients and transplant recipients and their families that will enable us to assist them in the ways they feel are most important, whether it be financial assistance or funding research and awareness initiatives. In addition to supporting various cancer-focused foundations, we offer a $5,000 scholarship to a student affected by cancer.
We look forward to this next Tom Olen Memorial Golf Outing and will be striving to exceed the past events’ achievements. We invite you to be part of it and see for yourself all the great people and effort that go in to helping those who struggle to overcome some of the most difficult challenges in life.
