Home for Little Wanderers Opens in Roxbury

Mayor Menino along with O’LYN team members at Home for Little Wanderers Opening

Nine young adults in the city of Boston will now have a stable environment in which to grow and develop after the Home for Little Wanderers cut the ribbon on its new Roxbury Village development Wednesday afternoon.

O’LYN Contractors, Inc. worked with developer L. Duane Jackson to help coordinate a new flat roof on the Roxbury Village Home. Peter Marecka of Heritage Wholesalers, Inc. and manufacturer Genflex generously donated the entire stock list worth of materials to the project and played a huge part in making it all happen. Donn Bullens, owner of Orbit Roofing, had a much needed crane and crew at the ready and handled the flat roof installation. He is apparently no stranger to this type of project, having worked with Duane on several of them, donating much needed labor and equipment. The Roxbury Village Home project was truly a team effort, and O’LYN Contractors is enormously honored to have played even a small role in this effort. Everybody involved in the project has made an investment in the city’s future and provided an opportunity for countless young adults to make the transition from the foster care system to a productive and successful adult life.
