The Associated Press recently published the article: “Solar Power is beginning to go Mainstream.” The article highlights some amazing statistics such as the 102% growth in solar panel installations from 2009 to 2010.
Several different sources are driving the move to solar including real estate companies installing solar panels on commercial space, utilities embracing solar technology and new solar financing companies. These finance companies make solar panels feasible for homeowners by paying upfront installation costs effectively making the installation cost to the homeowner zero. Now there is often a financial incentive for homes and businesses to install solar power rather than just an environmental incentive.
