O’LYN Recycling Program Update: Over 50 Tons Recycled So Far!

O’LYN Contractors, Inc. has just surpassed 50 tons of roof tear off diverted from landfills since our recycling program began with the Willard House & Clock Museum project on March 27th of this year! Our recycling partnership with EL Harvey & Sons has diverted a total of 53.892 tons of material so far, with as much as 46.155 of that total converted into road base. Our statistics on diverted tonnage are based on LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) reports provided by EL Harvey & Sons, which is a system developed by the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

The program is part of our O’LYN Green efforts at the company that encourages environmental responsibility. These include our roof cleaning which uses much less water than pressure washing and an environmentally friendly roof wash, our insulation operations that make homes more energy efficient, and our daylighting operations that reduce energy dependence, among may other efforts. We’re extremely proud to be leading the way in Massachusetts toward making environmental responsibility the rule rather than exception in the construction industry.
